The Miss BIC pageant was hosted on September 29, 2025. Among the eight contestants competing in grades 10-12, Anistyn Bryeans won the 2025 Miss BIC crown.
Bryeans is a Junior at Buffalo Island Central, a member of the cheer team, and a choir member. According to Bryeans, she has been doing pageants for at least thirteen years, winning a bunch of different titles along the way. Recently she also won the Miss Teen Rice Festival pageant. When asked what her favorite part of the pageant was, she confidently said, “Winning!” Next year, Anistyn will be crowning the 2026 Miss BIC winner, which she is looking forward to.
Bryeans noted that the Miss BIC workers were particularly helpful during the pageant, saying, “They gave us directions, kept up with the timing, kept us evenly spaced in a grand march, fluffed dressed, and corrected our order.”
High School EAST teacher, Mrs. Jill Sanders, organized the event, a role she has taken on for 12 consecutive pageants. “I think it was a fun night and it went pretty smoothly,” said Sanders.
Attendees of Miss BIC with a close eye might note some changes to the event. “We added curtains this year for the design and we played around with some nice designs to try to make more improvements for the pageant,” said Sanders.
While the Miss BIC pageants has been a decades long tradition at Buffalo Island Central, Sanders hopes to see increased participation in the event to see it grow further.
