The Final Destination franchise started in 2000. Final Destination began as a script for the X-Files written by Jeffrey Reddick, inspired by a news story about a woman who avoided a plane crash after a mother had a premonition. Reddick thought, “What if they cheated death, and death came after them?”. His colleagues at New Line Cinema were so impressed by the original concept that they encouraged him to develop it into a standalone feature film, leading to the Final Destination franchise, which uses Rube Goldberg-esque scenarios to show how Death eventually claims those who defy it.
Filming for Final Destination: Bloodlines began on March 4, 2024 and concluded May 13, 2024. Fans were excited for this new release and couldn’t wait to watch it. Final Destination: Bloodlines came out in theatres on May 16, 2025, fans thought of it as a great approach to the franchise. There was some praise and criticism, like all new movies have, some fans loved its innovative emotional depth, while some found the plot predictable. Its gruesome and creative deaths is what makes the movie a unique experience with a strong emphasis on dark humor, the special effects were top-notch, and the references to previous films in the series were excellent.
