Hoof Prints and Mustang Yearly editor Greydon Williams was named a national winner in the 2015 Jostens Photo Contest. Williams earned an honorable mention in the student life category for his photo of high school principal Randy Rose entitled, “Drop in the Bucket.” The photo featured Rose in the midst of his ALS ice bucket challenge earlier in the school year.

This is the first time any staff member’s photo was selected in the annual contest. This year, almost 5,000 entries were received and only 90 were selected as national winners.

The award marks the end of a stellar high school journalism career for Williams, whose national recognition includes two awards in the JEA Write-Offs, a Sweepstakes Award and three Gold Keys from Quill and Scroll International Honor Society for High School Journalists. He has also been named Photojournalist of the Year by the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association for the past two years and was named the 2015 Yearbook Editor of the Year. In addition, he has won numerous other state and local honors.

This school year has been a banner year for the entire staff, with 15 national awards being earned by staff members.
