Students Attend College and Career Fair

On February 26th, students gathered in the cafeteria for the annual College and Career Fair.  Many colleges and businesses set up booths for students to look at, including but not exclusive to:  Arkansas Tech University, Arkansas State University, and University of Central Arkansas. Among these were booths from Nucor, Adams Land Company, and Black Hills Energy.

The event was organized by counselor Mandy McFall.

This College and Career Fair showcased colleges around Arkansas, as well as companies that hire students that graduate in Arkansas.  This fair allowed us to show our students the multitude of opportunities that they have upon leaving high school. It is a great way to show colleges and businesses in our area what our own community has to offer them as well,” said McFall.

These local businesses and schools offer BIC students information and opportunities that will help them make decisions about their future education and career paths.  Career fairs are great opportunities for our students, especially seniors, to decide what college they will attend, and what career path is right for them.

Senior Kerra Tucker was among the students that benefited from the event. “I was really interested in seeing the college booths. One that interested me was the Williams Baptist University table. The booth really opened my eyes to what opportunities are out there,” said Tucker.

BIC would like to thank the volunteers and businesses that helped make this event possible.
