BIC Golf Team Fields Another Successful Season

Destiny Wilson, Writer

After a successful outing at the District Tournament, both the BIC girls and boys golf teams earned a bid to the State Tournament continuing a long history of golf accomplishments for the school district. The girls, led by Winning Medalist Sydney Bryeans, won first place in the District Tournament,  while the boys team won runner-up, losing only to Bay.

After exhibiting superior golf skills in the District Tournament, the teams represented Buffalo Island well in the State Tournament hosted in early October. This tournament experience was unlike any other, however, for the girls team who were limited to only one golfer to represent them due to complications with COVID-19. Freshman Hallee Wells was the lone golfer who was able to play for BIC.

While the golf season ended abruptly for some, the golfers still gained life-long memories from the season overall, and feel inspired to come back more prepared next year.

“I should definitely go to the golf course a lot more and just work on my swing,” said Wells.

Sophomore Taylor Shrable echoed Wells’ sentiment, saying “I should focus on my problems and issues and just really work on them to improve.”

BIC is proud to have to have the opportunity to add another District Championship and District Runner-Up award to our trophy case, after an already extensive history of winning on the golf course.
