Back in the summer, Twisters, an action packed movie, was released. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung ,this movie is a standalone sequel to Twister, which was the original movie released back in 1996 that is now known as an iconic ‘90s movie. The new “twist” to the old movie was a sensation. Movie stars, Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, broke the internet as the two starred in it.
I was persuaded to go see this movie because of the advertisements. It was all over Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and so much more! They’re advertising was very favored. These ads made an uproar for Twister fans and many people. Their social media team participated in many new trends throughout multiple forms of social media.
In Twister, the soundtrack was immensely popular back in the 90s. The creators of Twisters made it a point to have another great soundtrack. Popular artists from Shania Twain to Megan Moroney and many more took part in making music for this movie. Luke Combs who released “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma”, gained mass amounts of popularity and helped advertise the release of Twisters substantially.
The story is based on Kate Carter, Daisy Edgar Jones, experiencing a traumatic experience during a tornado chasing adventure. She quits her lifelong research because of it. But her friend Javi, who wanted to test out a new system, convinced Kate to come back to storm chasing. Kate then finds herself running into Tyler Owens, Glen Powell, the “tornado wrangler”. Tyler Owens is a reckless storm chaser that posts his expeditions on social media.
In July, I went with a few friends to the Malco Theater at Greensborough Village in Jonesboro. All of my friends, including me, loved this movie. The movie was exceedingly exciting. There wasn’t a dull part in the film, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire movie. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone as it was very rewatchable.
