Senior Arabella Oliver and Freshman Emma Kate Mccord were elected by their peers to represent the school during Homecoming night and were given the title of Homecoming Queen for the special evening. The staff here at “Hoof Prints” was able to interview the two young ladies to learn more about their experience on that magical night.
Q: What was your reaction when they announced your name for winning Queen?
Arabella: “I was genuinely shocked. I wasn’t expecting it all. I told my friends I’d be super happy if they got it. I was so shocked and am so grateful that they voted for me, because that means I’ve done something right by these people.”
Emma Kate: “ I really didn’t expect, I thought my friend Chandler would win for sure.”
Q: How was your experience finding the perfect dress?
Arabella: “ It wasn’t easy, when it comes to dress shopping I wasn’t really stressed about it, and when I saw my dress I thought I should just try it on. As soon as I put it on I knew it was perfect for me.”
Emma Kate: “It was fun trying on all those dresses, but when I put on my dress I knew it was perfect.”
Q: What was it like getting to walk with your escort?
Arabella: “It was great, he is my boyfriend. It was great and it felt so magical seeing everyone there.
Emma Kate: “It was a little awkward, we didn’t really talk that much.”
Q: How do you feel knowing that your peers voted for you?
Arabella: ”I’m beyond grateful, my heart is really full. I was really just a wholesome moment”
Emma Kate: “It makes me feel good about myself that I’ve been nice enough to others for them to vote for me.”
Q: What is one memory that you’ll always remember from Homecoming night?
Arabella: ”One thing I will remember is seeing Abigail and Presley looking at each other and at me and crying, with my mom and seeing everyones support was just so surreal.”
Emma Kate: “When Chandler hugged me after they announced my name, I definitely cried.”
