What is it about Valentine’s Day that makes it so special? Could it be the flowers, the chocolates, or cupid himself? Whatever it is, February brings the “love bug” in with it.
It seems like everywhere we look, people are being brought together. BIC is no exception of this celebration. Most students and faculty members either have Valentine’s Day memories, or perhaps even their own Valentine’s Day plans.
Even those who aren’t excited about the romance part of the holiday usually enjoys some aspect of the holiday. Nathan Whitlow says that the best part is the chocolates he gets to eat. Eating chocolate is a tradition of Valentine’s Day, but there is also much more to this holiday.
Most students agree that gifts are the best part of Valentine’s Day. Since it is on a Saturday this year, everyone wants to know if that will change the amount spend on gifts. Every girl wants to show off her “new stuff”.
Jenna Pike, Taylor Owens, and Jenny Walker agree that even though they won’t be able to flaunt their goodies at school, they are glad they will get to spend more time with their boyfriends.
Mrs. Andrea Buck also has special plans for Valentine’s Day. She says that she and her husband are going to dinner and a movie. She is expecting flowers and jewelry. She says, “the gifts I get from my husband are the best part”!
Having your very own Valentine this year is great, but if you don’t have one, don’t sweat it. You can still have a great time!
Jordon Miller and Shelby Qualls take matters in their own hands. Jordon says,” We never have boyfriends in February so to substitute, we always exchange cards with each other”. As long as you have friends, Valentine’s Day can always be fun.
Carol Hamrick says that her best Valentine’s Day was in 2004. Her husband took her shopping and bought her a watch that she picked out.
No matter what you do, who you spend it with, or how long you want to remember it, Valentine’s Day will always be the holiday of love, in which we all should try to enjoy.
