“I decided to take this assistant cheer coach position because I have been a cheer coach before. I was a cheerleader in high school, and I have been the elementary cheer coach as well as the junior high and senior high cheer coach in the past. I also know it takes a lot of time and effort, so I wanted it to be somebody that was willing to give that time. We spend a lot of time together. We spend 45 minutes in class every day, and have practice on Wednesday, so you get to know them very well. We spend a lot of time talking about what they like, and we let them have their own inputs, so that really helps us to become a closer group. But the hardest thing is that we spend a lot of time away from our families because it’s dedicated to cheer.”
