“I would say my family has a history of making art, and seeing videos of art kind of inspired me to get into art as well. It takes up a lot of time so I don’t get to do it very often. When I do, I sit there for hours working on a piece. I switch back and forth with ink and pencil, but using ink is what really makes the pieces pop. My artwork is based on references, I unfortunately can’t pull things from my mind and put it on a piece of paper. I will find an image of something I like or a character, then I will sketch it out on a piece of paper and use ink to go back over it.
Hirohiko Araki really influenced my art and inspired me to draw his characters. A little fun fact is his artwork is in the same museum as the Mona Lisa. I am currently working on a piece of Alucard from Hellsing: Ultimate. It is by far my most tedious and time consuming artwork and it’s not completed yet. My favorite piece of artwork is probably Gyro Zeppeli from Jojo’s. It turned out really good and the proportions were perfect. My least favorite piece was of Vegito. It turned out to be horrible and I should rip it up and incinerate it. My most crowd pleasing piece of art was of Icarus, because when I showed it to people, more and more people wanted to see it and had heard about it around school. They seemed to like it more than any of my other artworks. However, I would not like to work in a professional context of art. I enjoy it more as a hobby than anything.”
