Senior Giovannai Echavarria stands out among the BIC students proudly. While many students showcase the latest trends in footwear, such as OnClouds, Nike Dunks, or Jordans, Echavarria takes his shoe collection to an unique level. He has about 15 pairs of limited edition or exclusive shoes in his collection, and his impressive assembly has definitely drawn attention from his fellow classmates. 

His show collecting journey began at the age of 13. Echavarria explains, “I would always be watching my favorite basketball players and just looking at their shoes. It really got me into basketball shoes and then from basketball shoes, it really got me into collecting.” The first pair he added to his collection was the Kyrie Fives from the Spongebob collaboration.

Echavarria says that of his estimated 15 pairs of shoes, his absolute favorite in the collection is his pair of Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 Lows. “I’m a big fan of Travis Scott. Getting these shoes was crazy to me because of how expensive they are,” said Echavarria.

While there are thousands of pairs of shoes that are considered highly desired by the shoe collector community, there is one pair in particular that Echavarria has his eye on. “The Off White Air Jordan 1 Highs are the pair of shoes that I want the most because they are $5,000, so they are definitely rare to come across.”
