The MISS Northeast Arkansas Pageant is a competition that only a select few young women can earn the right to compete in. BIC was able to send four representatives to this year’s event. These four girls received an invitation to the pageant after finishing in the top five at the MISS BIC Pageant, held last December.

Representing BIC was Senior Morgan James and Juniors Olivia Cornish, Baylee Rose, and Alexa Whitley. These four were among thirteen total girls from across North East Arkansas who competed at the event held at Pocahontas High School.

BIC had a tremendous amount of success at this year’s event, earning the top two spots in the competition. Morgan James claimed the highest title, earning Miss NEA, while Olivia Cornish received the title of First Alternate.

“I have been in the NEA Pageant since kindergarten and I have never made it past the top fifteen, so I was really shocked when I got First Alternate,” said  Cornish

Due to this victory, Miss BIC will now be hosted on Buffalo Island Central’s campus this year, which can be a great opportunity for the school in terms of potential fund raising for the district.

“The first thing I thought after winning was ‘I finally did it!’ I’ve competed for eight years, and I’ve never won a crown at Miss NEA.I’m just so excited to bring this pageant back to BIC” said James.
