The band students pictured above competed at the Regional Solo and Ensemble Festival.  This is a contest where students go to Highland High School and perform either by themselves or with a group of similar instruments for  judges and receive a rating of one through five, one–or Superior–being the highest. Most of the BIC Mustangs that competed received a one or two (a rating of Superiority or Excellency).
