“My brother started doing livestock and it looked like a lot of fun to me.  I also love animals so I thought I’d give it a try. Livestock takes a lot of time. You can’t really go and hang out with your friends all of the time because your livestock comes first. Also, livestock doesn’t really listen and so you just have to take a lot of time to get them to do what they need to do and to train them to listen. My favorite memory was probably the time that I was showing my goat. I was really nervous and all day I was scared that I couldn’t do it. But then I went out there and I got first in my class and it was the first time I had done the state fair. It was a lot of fun. My favorite part about participating in livestock shows is that I get to see students from other schools because there are students from all over the state and normally you don’t get to see them a lot. So you kind of get to make up for lost time.”
